Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee better serves members with flexible IFF loan September 1, 2014

With over 400 members, Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee (NPC) is the city’s primary technical assistance provider and volunteer source for mission-driven organizations. A recent loan to NPC strengthened its ability to help nonprofits across the city.

IFF provided $217,000 in financing for NPC to restructure its mortgage into a longer term and set aside funds for cash reserves. This type of flexible loan is not commonly secured through traditional banks.

“The loan from IFF provides the Nonprofit Center increased financial flexibility to enhance our programs and better serve our members,” said Dan Neely, NPC’s board treasurer and assistant professor at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Sheldon Lubar School of Business. “Working with IFF is a true collaboration between nonprofits. IFF makes us feel like a partner and not just a customer.”

Since launching in 1967, the association serves 4,000 individuals annually through training and consulting. NPC also connects nonprofits to volunteers and candidates for employment through its websites, volunteermilwaukee.org and jobsthatserve.com.
