As IFF’s chief executive officer, Joe Neri leads a staff of over 90 highly dedicated and skilled loan officers, project managers, owners representatives, developers, researchers, and other professionals. After joining IFF in 1997, Neri created the Real Estate Services and Research divisions. Under his leadership, IFF’s loan portfolio grew over 140 percent in 3 ½ years and expanded into five states. From 2008 to 2011, as executive vice president, Neri oversaw the further growth of IFF’s loan portfolio to over $160 million and directed over $196 million in credit-enhanced charter financings.
Before joining IFF, Neri was associate director of The Resurrection Project, a nationally recognized Chicago community development corporation that he helped to create. Neri serves on the boards of the Housing Partnership Network and Acción Chicago. He also sits on the Community Advisory Committee of the St. Louis Federal Reserve. Neri holds a master’s degree in city planning from University of California, Berkeley, and a bachelor’s degree in urban affairs from Grinnell College.
